    • Summary

      During the recent Trump Administration, the government issued a flurry of regulations and orders that impacted the hiring of foreign nationals by U.S. companies. The new Biden Administration is working to address many of these policies, including rescinding some, delaying others, and evaluating still others for further action. As a result, employers and career services professionals are understandably confused about the visa options and processes that allow U.S. companies to hire international graduates of U.S. universities. This session will explain some of the most common issues related to the hiring of international students after graduation, focusing on the popular H-1B work visa.

      Following this program, you will be able to:

      • Understand the work visa options available for international graduates of U.S. universities;
      • Develop practices to help international students understand the process for working in the United States after graduation;
      • Identify practices to help employers that recruit on campus understand the process for hiring international graduates; and
      • Use information presented to implement best practices and immediate take-aways that support and promote key understanding of the content.
