• Summary

  The career readiness of students is the responsibility of the entire institution. Take part in this session, which highlights best practices for increasing faculty engagement with career services to create champions of career readiness and career services across your campus.

  Following this program, you will be able to:

  • Leverage faculty relationships to infuse career center strategy into campuswide collaborations;
  • Identify and connect career readiness to academic curriculum through meaningful facilitated activities; and
  • Design learning pathways that allow faculty to envision their role within career services.

  Alexandra Simon , Associate Director for Career Engagement, University of Florida - Career Connections Center

  Allie Simon serves as the Associate Director for Career Engagement at the University of Florida’s Career Connections Center in Gainesville, FL. In her current role, she provides leadership and strategic vision for the Career Engagement team, including managing the center’s Career Planning Model and the student career development experience. In previous career services roles, Allie has worked on career exploration programming for specific populations including first-year students and underrepresented students through partnerships across campus. She holds a Master of Education and an Education Specialist in Counselor Education, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida.

  

  Andie Cochran , Associate Director for Integrated Partnerships, [ARCHIVES]

  Andie Cochran has experienced two exciting career paths, one in the hospitality industry and the other in career services. During her former career at Walt Disney World, she gained a wealth of knowledge by working in many different job functions, from Monorail manager to training and development specialist. That industry experience has proved to be valuable in her current role at the University of Florida’s Career Connections Center. As the associate director for industry engagement, she focuses on customizing industry engagement for the university community and leads a team of staff who are liaisons to various colleges around campus.
