Overall, there is little change in how often employers will reassess their college hiring needs, perhaps signaling that their current schedules are working or that the college job market is stable, according to NACE’s Job Outlook 2018 survey.
The largest group of survey respondents—36 percent—plans to reassess their hiring needs on a quarterly basis. (See Figure 1.) Others plan to reassess more frequently: Nearly 28 percent plan to do so on a monthly basis and 10 percent intend to reassess weekly.
On the other end, 23 percent will reassess their hiring needs on an annual basis.
Data for the Job Outlook 2018 survey were collected from August 9, 2017, through October 2, 2017. A total of 201 surveys were returned—a 20.5 percent response rate. The Job Outlook 2018 report is available free to members through MyNACE. Nonmembers can purchase the report through the NACE Store.
