Even though the updated hiring outlook for the Class of 2018 was down, employers report that they will be active on campus this fall hiring college students for internships and co-ops, and new graduates from the Class of 2019 for full-time positions, according to results of NACE’s Job Outlook 2018 Spring Update survey.
Nearly 98 percent of responding employers will be on campus in the fall to hire for either full-time or intern/co-op positions. (See Figure 1.) Among these employers, almost 86 percent will be hiring for both full-time and intern/co-op positions.
The Job Outlook 2018 Spring Update survey—which updates the hiring projections for the Class of 2018 that were reported in the Job Outlook 2018 survey in November—was conducted from February 12 – March 30, 2018. The survey was sent to 958 NACE employer members; 150, or 15.7 percent, responded. The Job Outlook 2018 Spring Update report is available free to members through MyNACE.
