Spotlight for Career Services Professionals
Spotlight for Recruiting Professionals
During its 60th anniversary year, NACE is honoring its service to the profession, in part, by asking its members to look forward to the year 2021 and help model a vision of the future through polls posted on NACEWeb.
The second poll asked members about their predictions regarding the operational challenges they anticipate facing in 2021. More than 430 NACE members responded.
Survey respondents were nearly equally split in the operational challenges they anticipate facing in 2021 between dealing with budget and manpower constraints (31 percent) and addressing the career readiness of students (29 percent).
Twelve percent believe engaging students and building relationships will be their top challenge in five years, while 10 percent anticipate managing and meeting legislative mandates being their top test.
Other operational challenges NACE members anticipate facing in 2021 include a shortage of college talent in key areas, such as STEM (9 percent), effectively marketing and branding to students (5 percent), and assessing their program (4 percent).
