Spotlight for Recruiting Professionals
The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) recently made further guidance about its Section 503 focused reviews available in an area of its website.
The site provides a list of employer best practices for creating an inclusive work force, a sample focused review scheduling letter, Section 503 focused reviews FAQs, and more.
As OFCCP explains, a focused review is “one that is restricted to one or more components of the contractor’s organization or one or more aspects of the contractor’s employment practices. Section 503 focused reviews will include a comprehensive review of the contractor policies and procedures as they relate solely to Section 503.”
The reviews will also include an onsite investigation and interviews with managers responsible for equal employment opportunity (EEO) and Section 503 compliance as well as employees affected by those policies. OFCCP further explains that it would seek to evaluate the handling of accommodation requests, to ensure that individuals with disabilities are not being discriminated against in employment.
Last August, OFCCP announced its implementation of Section 503 focused reviews and indicated it will start scheduling the Section 503 focused reviews with its upcoming round of CSALs in the second half of March, Jackson Lewis LLC reports.
