Strategic Positioning of University Relations & Recruiting Task Force

Committee Description:
Flip the Script! Elevate the URR Function! We get it! Sometimes UR teams are thought to host pizza parties and just chat it up on campus. (REALLY??!!) But we all know the real deal and this is where you come in! The Strategic Positioning of University Relations & Recruiting Task Force will help take the UR function from drab to fab and get that seat at the table we all deserve.
Goals:
The Committee will work to ensure outcomes in support of the NACE Strategic Plan with a focus on the following goals: 1. Increase and retain a diversified membership and create opportunities to engage and build professional networks. 2. Advance the body of knowledge, set standards, and cultivate professional acumen. 3. Serve as the leading source of research, data, and content.
Committee Charge(s):
The task force will provide NACE and our members an insider view into the what, the why and the how to elevate the role of URR in an organization’s people strategy. So how exactly that that be done, you ask? The task force will utilize their findings to determine how NACE can assist members to implement leading practices that will empower UR&R teams to build the business case for UR and develop strategies aligned to their organizational goals. The taskforce will also consider how to best position UR&R as a strategic, long-term career path.
Timeframe:
7/1/2023 to 6/30/2024
• Plan to actively participate in a number of conference calls throughout the year • Task Force work will kick off August 2023 and continue through June 2024
Deliverables Expected:
• Collaboration across team to: o Develop inventories of early career case studies and their successes to an organization’s people strategies. o Create a summary document to illustrate the ROI that a strong campus recruitment programs. o Identify key benefits of / to organizational departments, as well as universities, who directly partner with UR&R function. This may include engaging hiring leaders and HR leaders to understand the value of UR (relationships, student preferences, etc) o Identify the ways to promote UR&R as a strategic TA partner. This may include showcasing aspects of UR&R that are differentiated from other TA roles, HRBPs, etc. o Work with NACE’s DEI Committee to incorporate their ideas about UR&R’s impact with diverse talent pipelining. o Deliver webinars/Conference sessions to showcase taskforce findings & recommendations, along with providing other recommendations to NACE for additional products / services to assist members in strategic positioning within their organizations and development of core UR&R capabilities for our profession.
Skills Required:
• Experience supporting / developing and / or collaborating with a high performing UR function • Ability to articulate an organization’s value proposition
