2023 Conference Program Committee

Committee Description:
The Committee is responsible for an inclusive approach to the selection of member-driven content and the engagement of subject matter experts to deliver concurrent sessions at both the in-person and virtual annual conferences. The committee seeks to ensure relevant, timely content and sharing of innovative practices of excellence that enhance the professional knowledge and acumen of conference attendees. Additionally, the committee will provide valuable insights about the overall conference experiences.
Goals:
The Committee will work to ensure outcomes in support of the NACE Strategic Plan with a focus on the following goals: 1. Increase and retain a diversified membership and create opportunities to engage and build professional networks. 2. Advance the body of knowledge, set standards, and cultivate professional acumen. 3. Serve as the leading source of research, data, and content.
Committee Charge(s):
The Committee devises inclusive, diverse and equitable learning outcomes, content tracks, and presenter selection processes for NACE’s most widely attended educational events with a focus on leading practices for the profession and distinguishable content appropriate for virtual vs. in-person experiences.
Timeframe:
7/1/2022 to 6/30/2023
• July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023 o Board, Staff, and Co-Chairs meeting in late July o Committee Kickoff meeting in early-to-mid August to determine regular meeting cadence • Initiate Request for Proposal (RFP) process. • Participate in conference calls throughout the year. • Expectations for a minimum of four, 2-hour phone calls for deliberation and decision on proposals in November. • Complete proposal evaluations in early December. (Reviewing in excess of 400 plus proposals in a tight timeframe; approximately 60 hours for proposal reviews) • Complete non-conference program deliverables in early-to-mid March
Deliverables Expected:
• Identify relevant topical areas of interest to members such as themes and tracks based on related trends and audience needs (e.g., Future of Work, Leading National Dialogue) • Identify a balance of content between member-proposed content and targeted, expert presenters to develop conference participants’ awareness and knowledge of leading practices in industry and the profession. • Review and select concurrent session programs based on content objectives. o Ensure diversity in presenters and an inclusive and equitable approach to the selection process. • Employ a variety of diverse learning formats and segmented tracks and ensure sharing of excellent practices and interactive experiences. • Leverage NACE Staff Advisor to understand previous conference feedback. • Deliver a first-time session which help to ensure that new conference attendees achieve their goals in attending the conference. • Create 2-3 signature conference wellness (physical/mental) activities that are inclusive of various abilities and/or interests.
