URR and Career Services Research Advisory Committee

Committee Description:
The Advisory Committee will review and provide feedback on research conducted by the association. As NACE considers modifications to its research timing, instruments, questions, and resulting reports and products, the committee will serve as a focus group. Committee members will help to articulate current and anticipated issues impacting the profession and preemptively suggest research topics that are responsive to the membership.

Data is the backbone to the decisions we make every day and keeping our finger on the pulse of what’s important to our members will help guide the association research capabilities forward. The Advisory Committee will review and provide feedback on research conducted by the association and serve as a focus group as NACE considers modifications to its research timing, instruments, questions, and resulting reports and products. Committee members will help to articulate current and anticipated issues impacting the profession and preemptively suggest research topics that are responsive to the membership.
Timeframe:
7/1/2023 to 6/30/2024
• There are anticipated to be 3 to 4 two-hour Advisory Committee conversations over the course of the year • Completion by June 30, 2024.
Deliverables Expected:
• Collaboration across team to: o Provide input on research conducted by the Association. Identify areas for expansion, topics/themes of interest to the membership, and how research surveys can maximize impact. o Assist NACE staff in identifying ways to encourage more participation in surveys and to minimize survey/research fatigue. o Do pre-work, including reading, writing, or reflecting upon research and/or discussion topics given to the Advisory Committee by the NACE leadership. o Provide input and examples of research products that NACE should be aware of to increase usefulness and marketability of NACE research products.

• Appetite to help guide the future of NACE research • Willingness to do ‘homework’ and provide feedback on research products • Ability to provide constructive criticism keeping in mind NACE member benefit
