Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee

Committee Description:
The Committee raises awareness and support across our profession of the NACE core value of inclusion: to foster and support diversity and inclusion to advance equity. The Committee will focus on increasing opportunities to share perspectives and leading practices and suggest content to foster and enable the NACE Statement of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Goals:
The Committee will work to ensure outcomes in support of the NACE Strategic Plan with a focus on the following goals: 1. Increase and retain a diversified membership and create opportunities to engage and build professional networks. 2. Advance the body of knowledge, set standards, and cultivate professional acumen. 3. Serve as the leading source of research, data, and content. 4. Advocate as the leading voice for the profession and serve as the authority on related public policy.
Committee Charge(s):
“The time is always right to do what is right’ – Martin Luther King, Jr. Grounded in NACE’s core value of inclusion, the committee will raise awareness and support across our profession to foster and support diversity and inclusion to advance equity. Particular focus on increasing opportunities to share perspectives and leading practices and suggest content to foster and enable the NACE Statement of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. The Committee will provide expertise and insights regarding inclusion-focused educational programs fostering diverse perspectives, membership engagement and networking activities, the NACE Statement of Diversity and Inclusion and its application in the work of the membership and the association, and collaboration with other NACE committees/task forces on initiatives addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Timeframe:
7/1/2023 to 6/30/2024
• July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024 • Actively participate in conference calls throughout the year
Deliverables Expected:
• Collaboration across team to: o Provide valuable feedback related to the development of an employer DEI index, DEI Certificate Programs, and other potential products to increase awareness and expertise of DEI. o Propose specific topics and identify contributors for inclusion in the online NACE Community, blogs, NACE Journal, and NACEWeb.org to address issues and needs related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. o Suggest and/or create content for NACE professional development programs. o Be responsive to consultative requests from NACE committees, task forces and / or affinity groups, as appropriate.
