Due to the partial government shutdown, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has extended the 2018 EEO-1 filing deadline to May 31, 2019. The EEOC added that the 2018 EEO-1 filing portal will open in early March for filing the reports.

The EEO-1 Report is a compliance survey mandated by federal statute and regulations. The survey requires company employment data to be categorized by race/ethnicity, gender, and job category.

Jackson Lewis, LLC, notes that in 2016, the EEO-1 filing deadline was changed from the third quarter to the first quarter of each year in connection with the proposed changes to add compensation information the EEO-1 report.

Though the proposed changes to the report have been postponed indefinitely, the firm reports that the changes to the EEO-1 reporting deadline remain in effect.
