On Tuesday, April 18, President Donald Trump issued an executive order to “buy American” and “hire American.”
The “Buy American” portion of the order directs the federal government to enforce federal guidelines that favor American firms, goods, products, and materials for federal projects and contracts.
The executive order also tightens rules around visas for skilled foreign workers and directs federal agencies to “crack down on fraud and abuse” of the H-1B visa program.
