  The 2022 NACE Student Survey is a dynamic and interactive way for the NACE community to glean meaningful trends and insights from NACE research findings.

  Take part to explore student attitudes, preferences, and behaviors as they relate to jobs, the job search, and employers. Together, we’ll examine the the latest findings, based on responses for more than 15,500 students nationwide. We will also drill into responses to uncover compelling data to inform your decision-making about student and candidate engagement, including which behaviors correlate to more job offers; the effects of internships—paid and unpaid—on job offers and salary; and student preferences based on gender and race/ethnicity.

  Following this program, you will be able to:

  • Examine key takeaways from the survey results to inform your decision-making about student and candidate engagement;
  • Learn how to navigate the interactive dashboard to manipulate key data across a variety of parameters and demographic variables; and
  • Explore the types of data available to you to pinpoint the attitudes, preferences, and outcomes of students you work with and recruit.

  Joshua Kahn , Associate Director of Research and Public Policy, NACE

  Josh Kahn is the assistant director of research and public policy at the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). He earned his Ph.D. in educational leadership with an emphasis on quantitative research methods from the University of Oregon in 2018. His interests include using a wide-range of measurement and assessment techniques, strengthening systems and routines to enhance outcomes, and weaving together multiple sources of data to make informed decisions. At NACE, he helps run the research department by developing and administering surveys, analyzing data, and disseminating results to the membership and the press. Prior to earning his Ph.D., Kahn was a special education teacher in Eugene, Oregon, and the Bronx, NY.

  

  Shawn VanDerziel , President & Chief Executive Officer, NACE

  As president and chief executive officer of the National Association of Colleges and Employers, Shawn VanDerziel leads the association of 16,000 college career services professionals, university relations and recruiting professionals, and business solution providers that serve the community. As a leading voice on the employment of the college educated and advocate for equitable outcomes for all students, VanDerziel is featured regularly as an industry expert and is a sought-after speaker on a range of topics, including internships, hiring, career readiness, and trends in the workforce and college job market. Prior to joining the NACE staff, VanDerziel was with the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago for 23 years, where he most recently served as chief human resources officer and as chief of staff. His earlier roles included corporate recruiting with Norrell Corporation and a position in higher education as associate director of student enrollment at National Louis University.
