  With a recession predicted, coupled with the ongoing challenges of COVID and Monkeypox, what will the year ahead look like for colleges and employers?   Shawn VanDerziel , President & Chief Executive Officer, NACE

  As president and chief executive officer of the National Association of Colleges and Employers, Shawn VanDerziel leads the association of 16,000 college career services professionals, university relations and recruiting professionals, and business solution providers that serve the community. As a leading voice on the employment of the college educated and advocate for equitable outcomes for all students, VanDerziel is featured regularly as an industry expert and is a sought-after speaker on a range of topics, including internships, hiring, career readiness, and trends in the workforce and college job market. Prior to joining the NACE staff, VanDerziel was with the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago for 23 years, where he most recently served as chief human resources officer and as chief of staff. His earlier roles included corporate recruiting with Norrell Corporation and a position in higher education as associate director of student enrollment at National Louis University.

  Antoinette Boyd , Director of Career Success, Maryville University of St. Louis

  Antoinette Boyd is director of Career Success & Professional Development at Maryville University. She brings 13 years of experience in employment services, career, professional, and workforce development. She’s a graduate of Webster University with a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s in human resources. She completed her doctorate at Maryville with a research focus on unconscious bias in hiring. Dr. Boyd is passionate about connecting people to opportunities and opportunities to people; her purpose is helping others realize their potential and gain the confidence and skills needed to achieve their personal, professional, and career-oriented goals, amid a constantly evolving job market.

  

  Deborah Liverman , Executive Director,Career Advising & Prof. Develop, Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Career Advising and Professional Development

  Deborah Liverman joined the MIT community in 1999 and has served in many roles at MIT. She sets the strategic direction for career advising and professional development (CAPD), the Institute's hub to explore and prepare for jobs, internships, fellowships, and medical or graduate school. She oversees career services, distinguished fellowships, prehealth advising, and professional development, which provide opportunities centered on career development and success for students, postdoctoral scholars, and alumni. Through strategic collaborations, department engagement, and student input, Dr. Liverman and her team provide career and professional development exploration and success. Dr. Liverman previously worked at MIT in many roles, including as the director of career services and special assistant to the dean of undergraduate education on strategic initiatives. She received her B.A. from Davidson College, M.Ed. from the University of South Carolina, and Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts. She presents at regional and national conferences on college students' career outcomes, working with students from diverse backgrounds, graduate students' careers, pay equity, and recruiting in the STEM field. Dr. Liverman volunteers her service on regional and national associations, holds positions on service committees, and mentors early career professionals.
