  Here we are—again—in uncharted territory. The recruiting season and school year are underway, and we all continue to pivot as we adjust—yet again—to the continued fallout from the pandemic. Fortunately, something is different this time: We’ve learned valuable lessons over the last 18 months, and we can see more clearly not only what a new normal might look like but also how that can work for all of us and the students we serve and recruit.

  Join us for an in-depth discussion about how to apply those lessons. Using the results of our most recent quick poll, we’ll delve into the most pressing issues facing the profession right now as we work to come back from the biggest disruption of our lifetimes. We will talk with experienced recruiters about their plans for balancing in-person and virtual recruiting; what they need and want from career centers; how their summer internship programs performed; and what they learned over the past 18 months, including what worked, what didn’t, what will stick, and what won’t. We’ll also talk with career services professionals about how they are balancing virtual and in-person recruitment activities, their plans for working with students and employers in new and innovative ways, and what changes are likely to be temporary, and which are here to stay.

  Scott McQuillan , National Campus Strategy and Programs Leader, Deloitte

  Scott McQuillan currently serves as a national talent acquisition leader at Deloitte where he has responsibility for leading the U.S .and U.S.-India campus recruiting strategy and programs as well as leading the recruiting efforts for the U.S. and U.S.-India tax practice . Prior to joining Deloitte more than 20 years ago, McQuillan worked in a variety of roles in higher education including college admissions, academic advising, and career services. His 25+ years of experience has always involved working with college students and assisting with their career exploration and professional development. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and is the current president of Beta Alpha Psi. McQuillan is a graduate of Central Michigan University where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

  

  Ja'Net Glover , Senior Director of Career Services, University of Florida - Career Connections Center

  Ja’Net Glover currently serves as the Senior Director for the Career Connections Center at the University of Florida (UF). Over the past 17 years, she has supported the career development and recruitment of students in the state university system by fostering strong relationships with students, corporate and campus partners. She leads a team of 33 full-time professionals and provides oversight for the university’s comprehensive, centralized career development operation serving more than 56,000 students and 20,00 employers. In 2018, Glover concluded leading the department through a $9.6 million facility renovation and expansion project. Currently, she is leading several initiatives focused on enhancing the quantity, quality and access of high-impact practices, career education networks, and employment options available for UF candidates. She is a double gator, and this year will mark her 15th year anniversary employed with the University of Florida.

  

  Cindy Verduce , Director, [ARCHIVES]

  Cindy Price Verduce is currently the director of the Career Center and Regional Career Services at Indiana Tech. A former health care recruiter, Verduce is passionate about helping students reach their career goals and employers their hiring needs. Verduce stays busy on the regional, state, and national level and currently sits on the board of the regional SHRM group, Northeast Indiana Human Resources Association (NIHRA), as the college relations director; she is also the chair of the Regional Internship Committee for the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership. For NACE, she is the past co-lead for the Careers for Students with Disabilities Task Force and Affinity Group, and the Veterans’ Affinity Group.   Vicky Hidalgo , Senior Manager, Early Careers Recruiting, [ARCHIVES]

  Vicky Hidalgo is a dynamic leader and results-driven strategist with nearly 10 years of experience recruiting and shaping talent cohorts in academic and corporate settings. At U.S. Bank, Hidalgo serves as a national leader in the campus recruiting space, having line of sight to the company’s renowned high school, undergraduate, and graduate internship programs as well as full-time entry-level opportunities for upcoming college graduates. She and her team provide strategic guidance to all business units across the enterprise, serving as a trusted consultant to diversify the talent pipeline through early-talent acquisition and employee retention. Hidalgo is a champion for diversity, equity, and inclusion who believes in the importance of promoting self-reflection, active learning, and actionable commitments to create positive change. Her leadership approach centers on communicating in a way that resonates with others and builds trust. She is passionate about helping others maximize their strengths, empowering people and organizations to achieve meaningful outcomes. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Gustavus Adolphus College, and a master’s degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. In her spare time, she enjoys serving as a board member for the Nosotros Latinos Business Resource Group at U.S. Bank, volunteering as a program counselor with Camp Odayin: a camp for kids with heart disease, spending time outdoors with her wife, Abby, and playing board games with her family and friends.
