    • Summary

      Career services offices across the country are hiring peer career educators to help scale services and meet the demands of a growing student population. It is no secret that a team of highly trained peer career educators can be a high-impact resource, providing meaningful career advice to students in a non-intimidating way. Many career services offices are enthusiastic about the idea of a peer career educator team but feel challenged with how to design a recruitment, interview, training, and evaluation process to ensure the creation and ongoing development of a high-impact team. The goal for this presentation is for participants to leave with a plan of action on how to create a recruitment and interview process.

      Following this program, you will be able to:

      • Develop a recruitment plan and interview process to attract and select a diverse pool of top-tier student leaders;
      • Create a curriculum for new-hire training and ongoing development of peer career educators; and
      • Develop an evaluation process to effectively provide performance feedback and professional development using the NACE career readiness competencies.
