The Iowa Intermediary Network connects K–12 students to career exploration opportunities in the state through exciting, work-based learning with highly dynamic and technology-driven Iowa industries. This session will review the functions of an intermediary, share successes of the Iowa Intermediary Network, and offer two regional perspectives. The context of the work-based learning continuum and the opportunities offered to K–12 partners to assist students in making future career and education plans provides a foundation for rich discussion surrounding the question of age-appropriateness for career decision-making, as well as considerations for colleges and businesses to engage in local intermediary activities.
