      Join Kyle Younger, Seton Hall University School of Diplomacy and International Relations, to address how career development competencies originate from traditional theories of career development that were based solely on research based on Caucasian males from middle and upper-middle-class backgrounds. As colleges and universities are becoming increasingly diverse, colleges can use critical reflection to examine and evaluate attitudes, practices, and beliefs as a means to effectively engage and serve the student population.

      Following this program, you will be able to:

      • Relate best practices and the role they play in “reflection” vs. “critical reflection.”
      • Demonstrate the ability to think critically about autobiographical experiences and how to engage in critical conversations that focus on negotiating the personal and professional risks of critical reflection; and
      • Identify actionable take-aways and examples pertinent to critical reflection through multiple lenses.
