Glen Fowler is the Past President of the 2018-19 NACE Board of Directors.
Fowler is the recruiting and training manager for the California State Auditor’s office, an organization he joined in 1997. There, he not only develops strategy for the office’s recruiting program but also takes part in recruiting events to ensure strategy and practice mesh. In addition, Fowler was instrumental in initiating the organization’s mentor program to promote successful onboarding and retention.
Fowler’s service to NACE includes roles as Director-Employer on the Board and as a member of a variety of committees and teams, including the 21st Century Career Services Model Team, Conference Committee, Sourcing and Nomination Committee, Finance and Audit Committee, and the Awards and Honors Committee. In addition, Fowler has been active in developing key frameworks for the profession: In 2012, he served as part of an advisory group that developed NACE’s professional standards for university relations and recruiting, and, in 2016, he served on a team that developed competencies for university relations and recruiting professionals on behalf of NACE. Fowler is also involved in mentoring those new to the field.
Fowler has also been active at the regional level, providing leadership as President of the Mountain Pacific Association of Colleges and Employers, and helping to develop the association’s 3i Program, which supports innovative programming in career services and recruiting.
Fowler earned a B.A. in political science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s degree in public management from the California State University, Sacramento. Also, he is a member of the National State Auditors Association.
