NACE Staff Present First-Destination Survey Processes, Results at 2016 AIR Forum

NACE staff presented on the NACE First-Destination Survey initiative at the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) Forum in New Orleans in May.

Edwin Koc, director of research, public policy, and legislation, and Matthew Brink, assistant executive director, presented “NACE First-Destination Surveys: Creating Standards and Reporting Results” on Tuesday, May 31. During the session, Koc and Brink described the process by which the standards and protocols were created, discussed implementation, and provided preliminary graduate outcomes data for the Class of 2015.

On Wednesday, June 1, Brink joined with Heather Kelly, director of institutional research at the University of Delaware (UD), to present “Aligning Post-Graduation Outcomes: The Trifecta Approach.” In this session, Brink and Kelly highlighted strategies used at UD, a public research university, to meet NACE guidelines for gathering and reporting first-destination data. Brink also discussed NACE’s advocacy role in related key legislative issues.

The AIR Forum is the world’s largest gathering of higher-education professionals working in institutional research, assessment, planning, and related postsecondary education fields. More than 2,000 AIR members were expected to attend.
