NACE Comments on Higher Education Act

In August 2013, in response to the request for comments about the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act (HEA), NACE provided its observations and perspectives to the Education and Workforce Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Noting that it favors providing consumers with the most accurate information possible regarding outcomes associated with pursuing a degree, NACE stressed its preference that any legislation dealing with the collection and reporting of outcomes be structured in “the broadest possible fashion” and that schools, not the government, be responsible for the assembly of the data.

In addition, NACE notified the committee of its work in developing standards and protocols for collecting, analyzing, and reporting outcomes data.
